Ghost Opera is a Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Free Company on the Diabolos server.

Our primary focus is a mix of both both casual activities and raid progression. We are newbie friendly and do not have many requirements for joining our community. We prefer members to be 18+ although we will make exceptions for mature individuals. We only have a few rules though we feel seriously about them. We are hate-intolerant, multi-ethnic, multi-religious, and LGBT friendly.

Code of Conduct
  • Be humble. Nobody is more important than anyone else. Not the leader, not the officers, not the main tank.
  • Be respectful. We are not rated PG... but we do ask that you be mature and respectful.
  • Don't discriminate. We will not tolerate any form of bigotry in the community.
  • Have Fun! We are all here to have fun and to enjoy ourselves.

Officers Mandate
  • We are here to *serve* the community and to have fun.
  • We should set the example for conduct.
  • We will try to include the community in the decisions we make.
  • We will not tolerate bullshit.

Becoming a Full Member
Two weeks after your application is accepted, you will be made a full member with access to the Company chest.

Violations against the FFXIV Terms of Service
Activities conducted by our members that violate the Final Fantasy XIV Terms of Service will result in discipline or removal from the Free Company. This includes but is not limited to botting, scamming, harassment, and the buying or selling of in-game items or currency for real money. A full list of prohibited activities can be found at the Square Enix support website. It does Ghost Opera no good if you get your account banned from the game.

Inactivity
We expect our members to be reasonably active. If you will be gone from the game for an extended period of time then please let us know in advance. Members who go inactive for more than a month without informing either an officer or posting to the AFK sub-forum may be removed from the community. Alts who have been inactive for over a month will be removed from the Free Company.

Conflict Resolution
We ask that you do not resolve conflicts publicly. If the issue can't be resolved via private message then bring the issue to an officer and we will work with you. The officers and guild leader are here to help you.

Discipline
If a member commits a serious breach of policy then they will be removed from the community. We do not tolerate bullshit. Minor infractions will be handled on a case by case basis.

Security Token
All members are required to be using a security token. This can either be in the form of a physical token purchased from Square Enix for $10.99 USD or the free application for Android and iPhone. This will allow you to make use of the "One time password" field when logging into the game and will greatly reduce the likelihood of your account being hijacked. We will be requiring everyone to have this regardless of if you feel your account is at low risk to compromise. It's better safe than sorry!

Also of great importance is to print out and save a copy of your emergency removal password if you are using the software Security Token! This password is required for recovering your account should your phone get reset, lost, etc.

For more information on why a security token is necessary, please read the following security advisory from Square Enix.

I'd like to reiterate this point for everyone. Any problems/questions/concerns that anyone has with a fellow FC member (whether it's an Officer or Member) or the FC itself should go through the appropriate channels so that they can be solved within our walls. The issue should be brought up between the two parties involved first and foremost, but if that's too difficult or gets you nowhere, Ghost Opera Officers such as myself should be contacted with the issue so that we can address it.

GHOST OPERA OFFICERS ARE HERE TO SERVE THE COMMUNITY

Send an Officer a tell or FC mention in-game, a message in the forums, or a nudge in our Teamspeak channel to get their attention and let them know you want to talk. We WILL make time for your issue. From there, discipline can be carried out and a plan can be made. If you go straight to SE and their Game Moderators, they will make a decision based on your information and the rules they have to follow. They don't know any of the parties involved, and they're just doing their job to keep the community as a whole satisfied. While this fixes some problems, it makes others worse.

As part of the FC, we know and play with each other fairly regularly. We can better handle more delicate situations because we have more information than a chat log and a witness's account.

Please please PLEASE take the time to communicate with each other as fellow Free Company members. We all come from different backgrounds and situations, but we're one unit here. We're all mature adults, and, more importantly, we're all Ghosts here.

Please feel free to message myself or ANY Officer with any questions or concerns you're having. We're here for you, Ghost Opera.
